On the product strategy front, Lenny Rachitsky distilled key lessons from his conversation with Matt MacInnis of Rippling. They focused on the shift from COO to CPO and the power of “high alpha, low beta” approaches to drive exceptional outcomes. That theme carried into a recent interview where MacInnis explained why he deliberately understaffs every project: overstaffing breeds politics and diffuses focus. He insists that extraordinary results demand extraordinary effort—teams may need to endure intense “death marches” to fight organizational entropy.
